The State Central Library
Libraries are the keepers of our history and culture. The development of the library system is an important compoLibrarynent of the scheme of non-formal education and continuing education. The State Central Library at the State capital Shillong has a very rich and varied collection of books.
District Libraries have been set up in West Garo Hills District Tura, East Garo Hills District Williamnagar, West Khasi Hills District Nongstoin and Jaintia Hills District Jowai. The library services have also been extended to two more districts namely Nongpoh and Bagmara for which the District Libraries have been set up accordingly.The State Central Library at Shillong has been computerised.
